Excessively Tilted Fiber Grating Sensors

چکیده

The development of excessively tilted fiber gratings (Ex-TFGs) provides a new type sensing device with high refractive index (RI) sensitivity, low thermal crosstalk and vector property. Due to the asymmetric grating structure Ex-TFG, light in core is coupled into order forward-propagating cladding modes split two orthogonal polarization states, resulting dual-peak resonances transmission spectrum. Ex-TFG also exhibits non-circularly symmetrical near field distribution, which endows an exceptional orientation capability. Benefitting from unique mode coupling behavior, Ex-TFGs have been studied developed for many different applications, such as dependent torsion loading sensors, accelerometer magnetometer, variety bio/chemical sensors. This paper will review recent study terms mechanism, fabrication method, sensor characteristics novel applications areas.

Polarimetric multi-mode tilted fiber grating sensors.

The polarimetric sensing characteristics of multi-mode-fiber based tilted fiber Bragg gratings (MMF-TFBG) have been analyzed and experimentally demonstrated. The larger diameter fiber core and graded index core/cladding profile enable the tilted gratings to excite multiple high-order core modes with significantly different polarization dependence and to form a well-defined "comb" of spectrally ...

Interrogation of interferometric sensors with a tilted fiber Bragg grating.

This paper describes the interrogation of interferometer-based transducers with a technique that involves the use of a tilted fiber Bragg grating. The interrogation process will be analyzed both from the conceptual and experimental points of view. Simultaneous interrogation of multiplexed interferometric transducers is successfully checked using this technique.

Fiber Optic Bragg-Grating Sensors

In-fibre Bragg gratings are sensor elements which are photo-written into optical fibre using intense ultra-violet laser beams and have the potential for the measurement of strain/deformation and temperature with applications reported including monitoring of highways, bridges, aerospace components and in chemical and biological sensors. The development of a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) measuring sy...

In-situ detection of density alteration in non-physiological cells with polarimetric tilted fiber grating sensors.

Tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) biosensors can be used as a cost-effective and relatively simple-to-implement alternative to well established biosensor platforms for high sensitivity biological sample measurements in situ or possibly in vivo. The fiber biosensor presented in this study utilizes an in-fiber 12° tilted Bragg grating to excite a strong evanescent field on the surface of the sens...
